2002 New Zealand Championships for the
Farr 6000 and Farr 7500 Classes
26th and 27th October
The National Championships this year will
be held in conjunction with the Meridian Energy Aviemore
Classic at Lake Aviemore. Host Club is the Timaru Yacht
and Powerboat Club.
The Aviemore Classic has always attracted
a good fleet of Farrs and has had a high standard of
racing and this year looks to be no exception.
The current Farr 6000 National Champions,
the Kenah brothers in Mariska are coming from Napier
to defend their title and there has been enough enthusiasm
from the Farr 7500 fleet to hold their own Class Championship,
the first for a number of years.
Once again our event has received generous
sponsorship from Doyle Sailmakers, in the form of Bud
Nalder who is the FTYANZ sailmaker.
Racing will consist of five races. Four
short course races on the Saturday and the Aviemore
Classic on the Sunday. Details may change and will be
announced at the briefing on Saturday at 1000am. Other
information will be posted here as it comes available.
